This unit is the best out of 3 I have used in the last 15 years. The main problem with the inside portables is that the condensation tank grows algae. That algae collects in the intake of the pump hose or drain hose making the unit shut down and flash an overfill code. I just took mine apart after the first 3 months of 24/7 usage and completely cleaned it. Blowing out the little pumps intake and intake hose, also using MoldeX and a pump sprayer to clean the entire inside of the unit. You have to be certain to unhook the circuit board if your going to hose it down like I did. I then took a length of clear 3/16 hose and mad it so I could just drop some bleach or mold killer into the condensation tank or pan that's the bottom of the unit. If you just drop it into the top condensation track it keeps the mold completely out well enough for a good once a year cleaning. Remember that 20% of the dust that makes it past the unites screen filter end up trapped inside. So a once a year cleaning is a complete necessity. This L.G. is not as quiet as I would like. I have never found a quiet 14,000 BTU air handler that wasn't 6'x6'x'6 or mostly outside that was quiet. My friend lives in Arizona and I live near N.Y. he never has a mold problem with his. I would guess if you live in a very humid place this is a factor you will have to consider. The L.G. has saved me money in the summer and kept it 67 on 100 degree days. I have saved money on oil in the winter and it has kept my room 70 degree's in 10 degree nights. I was very impressed with that out of a heat pump. I would buy another with all thing's considered. If you are unable to clean this unit , or don't know someone will clean it for you I would buy a service contract. If you live in a almost 90% environmentally controlled home, very very little dust, dry, no pets this will not be such an issue and I can see it going for a year without being needed to be cleaned for a year. All ac unites need cleaning at least once a year. As I said I run mine 24/7 7 days a week with very little break time. 3 weeks maybe 2 times a year.Read full review

I misunderstood description I suppose. I was looking for a unit that would cool a room without needing to vent thru a window ... I guess that doesn't really exist .. I paid a bit much for something that doesn't quite meet my needs. And I bought two :((. I have some remorse but mostly bc I'm a ding dong. but it is Easy to set up ...and is very powerful. Not quiet but not super loud ....mostly like consistent white noise so it is comfortable sleeping when it is on. I wasn't bothered by the sound of it working.

Excellent cooling.. Just what I needed for a stuffy basement! Easily cools 600 sq feet if not more. Highly recommended!

I think this unit is perfect for what i use it for, heating and cooling the garage. The only drawback is the remote only works from a few feet away, even with new lithium batteries in it.

this AC unit was a great buy. we purchased it for a 36 ft RV and I can not complain at all. It keeps the house cool at all times, even if it was turned on during the hottest part of southern Arizona day. It vary quickly cools the RV to a comfortable temp. I would definitely buy another if needed later down the road
