This is the most amazing amp I have ever owned. It has such a range of tone, everything from sparkling cleans to super-overdriven, finger tapping Van Halen Heaven. You guitar can launch into outer-space right in your living room. With switchable power-tube settings from 10 to 25 watts, and all the tone control you can want.. The EL-34 Power section is very dynamic. At the 10 watt settings, .. you can play with even real power-tube distortion without the police coming. And it isn't a toy. It is 25 watts, and I am talking 25 REAL watts. It is loud if you want it to be and totally giggable. And the Pre-amp side distortion is absolutely wonderful. I swear this thing is alive. It is so responsive... it has incredible feel. You wanna do Steve Vai Bad Horsie, or SRV??? It will do all that. It is a tube amp, which typically make a lot of pops and buzzes this one does not. It that respect, it is among the quietest I have ever owned. I'll go out on a limb and tell you this is the best lunch-box size amp you can get. . Plus it comes in a cute little padded gig bag with a channel foot switch. There isn't a reverb in it, but , you'd think there was. The real-tube harmonics are out of this world. I have never had so much fun with an amp. I have owned and do own many including Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier, Mesa Boogie Road King, Mesa Boogie Trans-Atlantic 30, Fender Super-Twin 180, Rock-Tron Velocity 60, Atomic 50 and more. The Mesa Boogies are ALL TOP SHELF. I really loved my Triple Rectifier too, but to get it off the ground... where it really did it's best... it was just too powerful. Great Amp. Same with the Road King, but the Rectifier I liked more. And the cool thing is, this Mini-Rectifier is so straight-forward. Some of my others, I spent more time playing with the amp trying to find a tone than playing guitar. This thing, covered in switches and knobs, power and gain settings...all that looks intimidating. It isn't. It is very intuitive, after very little time you will know exactly how to dial in the tone you want weather that be mosh rock, metal, jazz CW... The danged thing just sounds great anywhere you put it. And I haven't even tried any effects with it yet. I am completely pleased with it as-is. Yeah, later... Currently I am running it through a Fender Frontman Amp... 12" speaker... the amp head on that is by-passed...( Dang solid-state ) just using it for a cab, and even that 12" Fender Special just sounds wonderful! This little thing has all the bottom end thump you could ever want, and blinding bright end as well. Everything. And it ain't anything to be ashamed of!!! You can run 4x12 Cabs with it. It's just going to sound even better. And it weighs nothing. I can't even carry my Super Twin anymore..90 pounds and wheels on it.. And, take my advice. All them solid-state Amps... they want to sound like this tube amp. They can't. Forget it. I wish I figured that out earlier. Start with the real thing, and get the best you can. I wasted years with stuff that wasn't good, and because I couldn't ever get good tone... I didn't play as much. I would be miles ahead if I had started out right. This little thing is now my favorite. I am going to be selling just about all the rest. Here's just one YouTube demo, there are many. Mesa Mini Rectifier - 5 Killer Tones Read full review
