Eternam is one of the funniest graphical adventures of principles of the Nineties developed by Infogrames (Now property of Atari). In only four diskettes it contains an impressive amount of locations, the interiors with a great graphical detail and the less detailed exteriors although are enormous (In my opinion until now only surpassed by “The Longest Journey”). It obtains the maximum of the processors available at the time of publication. With a 80386SX@16MHz processor, 640kb of ram memory and one soundcard compatible AdLib, already we can discover all the power of the game engine. We must interact with multitude of personages and objects, if really we want to enjoy the game and to know all possibilities to solve it, we will have to happen between one and six weeks playing, and if we only want to finish the game will be necessary to us a whole day and a guide with the solution (not recommended without it to have tried to do it yourself at least during one week). With this I believe that it is set out the magnitude of the game. The first problem that we found to solve a game of this size is that we only can have nine saved games. Also we will need a notebook to write the incredible amount of information that will be giving the different personages to us, and who will be necessary in another point of the game. It is not either of more trying to make our own map if we do not want to return to us crazy with the great amount from ways available. This is my humble opinion, may contain errors and it only can be considered orientative. My TOP10 graphical adventures for MSDOS (By alphabetical order, other clasification maybe very very very complicated) Eternam (Infogrames) Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis (Lucas Arts) Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (Lucas Arts) Loom (Lucas Arts) Maniac Mansion (Lucas Arts) Sam & Max hit the road (Lucas Arts) Shadow of the comet (Infogrames) The day of the tentacle (Lucas Arts) The Secret of Monkey Island (Lucas Arts) The Secret of Monkey Island 2, LeChuck's revenge (Lucas Arts) Please note that all the names of games, companies and hardware mentioned here are copyright of to their respective owners.Read full review
