starter drive. I ordered this part based on the part number of my starter, with out disassembling my starter. My starter has a nut retainer, not the provided circlip. also the spiral-helix drive plate did not match the spiral on my shaft, but I did use the drive gear assembly & spring to repair my starter.

this part did not work to replace the original. I managed to use some of it after altering it.The only good part was the spring.

You did WHAT? I can only assume you purchased the wrong part initially. I mean, we have sold 242 of these with this auction. So you are telling everyone that bought then in the past were wrong? It cracks me up when someone with (4) feedback rating gets to leave a mark against good sellers, especially with ZERO contact from the buyer. Not even ONE message that it may or may no fit. Never asked to return the item, even though we offer FREE RETURNS. Instead, you altered the part. Very Odd.

    Starter saver

    Appears to be equal to OEM parts, fit my starter application perfectly, thankfully this company is making these parts as they are no longer available from the original manufacturer, this saved me from having to buy a new starter. The only thing that would have made it better was if the kit included the top plastic cover or the option to purchase a kit with or without the cover.

    Did not fit

    It stated that it fit the starter number 3209801s , but it was taller than the old gear and would not completely disengage from the flywheel teeth. Had to clean up and re-install the old one to get by. Guess I have the one weird kohler starter that there are no replacement parts for. Most likely will have to replace the starter once it completely stops turning the engine over.
