I bought this book for my daughter age 12. She was interested in this sequel after first reading "The Face on the Milk Carton" also by Caroline B Cooney. It was a big hit! The character "Janie" meets her birth parents and her life changes---Can she love them just as much as the family that raised her??? The author really gives interesting veiwpoints from Janie, her boyfriend and the other members of her family.
Caroline B. Cooney is a wonderful amazing writer. Found her first from reading "What Child Is This?" about 2 years or so ago. Now, at 17 and graduating, I still love her books and continue to read and re-read her novels. "Whatever Happened to Janie?" and the others in the series are really mind-gripping from front to back. This is definitely a great read to consider if you love books that aren't all the cliche endings. ^_^ Cooney's books will astound readers.
I love this series of books. Somehow I lost my second book, so of course I had to buy it again. :) Ms. Cooney always has some interesting books. She's a very talented author.
My granddaughter (10yrs) read the book, Face on the Milk Carton, and told me she couldn't put it down. I felt the same way after reading it. It left you hanging at the end but the next book, Whatever Happened to Janie, continued the story and was just as good. I bought both books because i sometimes like to read what my grandchildren are reading so we can talk about our experience together.
