I purchased this used, but in near new condition, Panasonic KX-TGA560B Cordless Handset on ebay to replace one of my existing units that had suddenly gone bad after years of use. The old handset still worked perfectly for making and receiving phone calls, but the LCD display had become intermittent and finally, the display went completely blank / inoperative. You may wonder why I didn't simply purchase a brand new set of cordless phones with answering machine base. The first reason is the cost; secondly, because the rest of my Panasonic set was working perfectly; and third, because I am very satisfied with the quality and features of my existing Panasonic phone system. The KX-TGA560B handset I purchased was a snap to set up. I simply inserted a new battery (or you could use the one from an existing, broken handset) and entered a few codes, following the Panasonic Owner's Manual (you can still download a PDF copy of the manual from the Panasonic website) to make the handset pair up with the main answering system base station. And that's it! Call me satisfied. (Pun intended.)Read full review

We've had the base unit and two handsets that came with this Panasonic phone system for several years now. We really like the system; easy to use, superb performance and an overall top quality product in our experience. We added a room upstairs and wanted another phone to use up there. We bought this extra handset and charger rather than an independent device because we're familiar with it and its functions, so we can use it without having to put on our glasses! Also, I wanted to locate the phone next to the couch in the middle of the room so I wouldn't have to get up to answer it. By adding on to our system, all I needed was electricity...no phone line connection was necessary. The handset's cradle is its charger and it's wireless to the base for the phone signal. Perfect...The phone system also has an intercom feature that allows for phone-to-phone communication which is especially helpful for the upstairs-to-downstair scenario we have here. The Panasonic system is superb in our opinion. The quality is top-notch, it's easy to use, and has lots of capabilities. I would buy another system without hesitation.Read full review
This is a state-of-the-art phone. For starters, it has TALKING caller id. Not only is the name and phone number of the caller displayed on the phone, but the base unit and any extension handsets audibly announce the name of the caller showing on the caller id screen. While it can't get every single pronunciation correct, it does a surprisingly good job of announcing about 90% of the caller names - meaning we don't have to get up and go look at the display, but we can stay where we are and just listen for the name. It also has a small antenna on the handset that lights up in red, yellow, or green or a combination that you can program based on who is calling. The phone also has a choice of ring tones and ring melodies that can be set based on who is calling. The phone book on the phone can be programmed to store names and phone numbers. Once the names and phone numbers are programmed into one handset, you simply select "copy one" or "copy all" numbers and the phone transmits them to all other handsets. Messages can be retrieved and listened to on any handset either through the earpiece or over the speaker. Other features include a voice enhancer, an intercom and a setting to slow down the voice of the person speaking via a built in delay. The phone is lightweight and looks good too. It is a very good value for the money.Read full review
This was a purchase in order to expand my current existing home phone system. I love the features available with this phone like the voice announcement caller ID and the handheld message playback. Only one drawback is that I am limited to expanding to only one more handset for a total of three. I over bought by one. I plan to save and use the extra handset should I ever need it. I doubt I will use it but just in case of some accident. The best phone system I have ever owned and would do all over again minus the over spending for the extra handset I am not using.
I purchased the original base/4-phone set the first year it was available (perhaps 6 years ago). Over the years, I would guess that Ive bought 6 or 7 more units as the handsets fail (usually due to being dropped in the sink/shower, down the stairs, etc). As long as I can find this model, I'll keep on using them. I see no reason to change from something that works perfectly and has the features I want.
