Difficult to Install

I had read that these boots were difficult to install. I also read that if they were put in boiling hot water it would help with the installation. I did that but still could not get them on. So, I did a slit in each one to get them over the hex end of the torsion bars. I'll have to put some sealer over the cut areas.
