Good value and compact
2 of 4 found this helpful I have a Samsung phone from work and I don't like what Samsung (and some other manufacturers) do to Android. I also don't like the garish, over-saturated displays on some high-end phones. Having previously had a Nexus 5 and a Nokia 6, I knew that I wanted "vanilla" Android.
Some cheaper Android phones are missing features - the very cheapest don't have GPS sensors, some don't have NFC, and even the Moto G doesn't have a compass, so you can't see which way you're facing on the map and AR doesn't work.
I found the Nokia 6 a bit big for pockets, so the Pixel 4a is the right size, has all of the key features, is much more responsive than the Nokia, and has a battery that lasts me at least two days. It seems to hit a sweet-spot of size, features and price (especially for the £293 that I paid).
