Permatex Leak Repair Sealant 82099

May work for oil leaks but not on rear axle housings.

Is not able to withstand rear axle lube for very long. Held for a while and then melted away and the leak returned. May work better away from hypoid oil. I know that the gasket maker companies make a special product for rear axle lube.

OE part

was the OE part still in its original bag. Worked fine. The post office lost it along the way and according to the tracking it was sent back and forth between two post offices 3 times. It arrived a little late after being mailed the same day it was ordered, but it was in good shape.
