2005 Stratus 4 Door Sedan Strut Job
Decent strut for the money.
Caution:
Make sure that you quadruple check the part application guide to assure that the parts ordered fit whichever vehicle model you have (sedan or coupe). Check and verify ALL information columns, are what you seek, as my original source specified "sedan" in one column and "coupe" in another column of the same line.
Clarification: this application guide was on eBay and NOT the Gabriel website.
Once the parts needed arrived, the removal of the original struts was completed and the Gabriel struts were installed with no major issues.
Opportunities for improvement:
1). The lower spring seating location of the OEM strut had foam material adhered to the spring seat - to deaden vibratory rattling? It was disappointing to find that the Gabriel strut did not have this feature. Especially on the highest end strut.
2). The installation information provided by Gabriel was generic in application. Having an exploded view diagram would have been a valued tool, as the assembly contains a lot of parts that need specific orientation. This seems like a small detail until a person has a bunch of parts in front of them that need to be properly assembled. Another small detail would have been documentation on the fact that removal of the shipping hardware is required before assembly.
