Well touted gay love story.

I really liked the story line. I bought the dvd because several reviews I read of other gay stories listed Torch Song Trilogy as a must see. I personally did not care for the main character and felt he detracted from his significant love interests and family members by his eye rolling and extreme facial mannerisms. His responses were trite and stereotypic which crushed credibility of his personal struggles. The story also seemed to span over too long a time period and it was unclear what happened to David in the end. Overall, the story would have been great without this guy playing the central part. --- MRC

Expecting a Miracle

Nice little movie with a sweet ending. A couple wishing to have a baby get away for a short vacation to Mexico and then their car breaks down. They walk to the closest village and stay there for a bit while waiting for repairs. The locals are celebrating a religious holiday and hoping for a miracle for one little boy who has a bad leg. After helping the celebration by using his engineering expertise, the couple renew their love and return home. A few weeks later, they get their own miracle when she turns up pregnant, something they were told couldn't happen. A sweet little movie.
