    satisfactory sony impersonator
one suspects a new sony mic priced at apprx. $5 is not truly a sony. and, of course, it is not. but i have owned the real ecm-ds70p, and now the knock off. the difference in performance is not as stark as one might think. however, for a $5 mic, it's quite good. can't swing the $40-50 for a honest ecm-ds70p? pick up this one and indulge in a little harmless self deceit.

    thermal imaging scope under 1K
i own the T-12 and it it does as what it is advertised as being able to do. i strongly suspect the negative review seen above is due to a small oversight of the operator. one has to regularly calibrate the unit while in use. this is done by aiming the unit at a 'thermally uniform object' with a quick press of the power button. thermally uniform would be, if one is outside, aiming it straight up in the sky. this will give a 'baseline' within the temp range you will be using it in. this must be done every say 10 minutes or when the display starts to assume the 'tunnel vision' appearance the reviewer spoke of. moral of the story, read & understand the manual. they are excellent units. just figure out which model will best suit your needs.
