OHMU 12.5" Spare Tire LED Third Brake Light for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler 2/4 Door

Awesome addition to my new 2018 Wrangler JL!
You can splice this into the existing back 3rd brake light that is above the spare wheel. Note that it is easiest to cut the existing wire coming out of the door and essentially extend them about 10 inches, because these wires are not long enough to reattach if you try to leave as original length. Make the extension using an insulated waterproof butt connector, we used Everglades Backcountry from Amazon and they worked prefect! You will need 4 total connectors (we used a bunch more because we messed up a few times!). You will need A) two connectors that attach the original wires from the back of the door to a new 10” section of wires, and B) attach these new wire sections to another set of connectors that attach to the new add on lights. You must add these new wire sections or you won’t have enough wire to reassemble the top brake light. Lastly, before crimping and melting the connectors in A, insert the two wires leading from the original top brake light back into one of the connector ends with the wire going into the door. Remember, there are both positive and negative wires for each connection, thus two connectors at each point. It’s actually pretty easy to do, but the most important thing is to attach your own 10” pieces of wires to save yourself frustration since you won’t have enough wire to work if you don’t! Very simple to make waterproof connections using these marine grade butt connectors mentioned above!
