Brand New Quality 37 Key Melodica

Perfect for the price.

I am in a Reggae band. For the price, i decided to take a chance on it as we really needed a melodica for our recording. I figured it might be junk, but it wouldnt be a huge waste of money if it was. Boy was I surprised and delighted when it arrived. The sound is right on. every key is in tune. Its nice and loud. nice case. It is plastic (like almost every melodica) seems sturdy enough though, and if I step on it or something, i can afford another one. I could not be happier with the product. Thank you! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a melodica. We have since used it in a live setting w/a mic, the crowd loved it.

Overall good buy

This was a pretty good buy for the $. I watched it once through. It is a good place to start if you are a drummer wanting to learn some reggae grooves. There is a lot of ska and rock steady stuff on here, I play more of a roots style. It would have been cool if this was a three part series, with a separate disc for each category. While the ska, and rocksteady parts are good, I was hoping for a bit more in the roots department. Some of the music they play in the video is good, some of it was not so good but gets the idea across just fine. This is not intended for beginners, some of the patterns are quite complicated. I could see a beginner getting overwhelmed. I would recommend this to intermediate drummers and pros wanting to learn some reggae beats in a quick way. Say, if you had an upcoming gig with some reggae in the mix. you could learn most of this in a week or so. I would also note that most of the patterns and grooves here can be found on youtube for free. One drop, rockers, steppers, etc.

Good for the $

Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase. It is fairly fragile. The 3.5mm jack solder joints popped off of the circuit board after light movement of the aux cable. I re soldered the joints with better contact and have had no issues since. For the price, it cannot be beat. Thanks.
