A gentle tale, well told.
A very readable tale most children will love, about a talking hat that gets separated from its owner and has some hair-raising adventures with various animals along the way. There are plenty of cliff-hangers to keep youngsters reading on, some great characters and some cute illustrations. It's a gentle read, the chatty animals owing more to Beatrix Potter than to grittier children's authors such as Roald Dahl or David Walliams. Like pretty much every self-published book I've ever read, there are typos and grammatical inconsistencies, but certainly not enough to spoil a good read – and the children won't mind them one bit! Thoroughly recommended.
