    About

I collect WWII U. S. fighting knives and bayonets with special emphasis on Marine Corps items. I am also a big fan of Joe Foss, a great American and the top-scoring Marine Corps ace of WWII.

Great comprehensive review of WWII U. S. Infantry Weapons!
If you are into WWII or military weapons this is a great book which covers the waterfront of U. S. WWII infantry weapons used by both the U. S. Army and Marine Corps. While books have been written about many of the individual weapons, such as the M1 Garand rifle, which give many more esoteric factoids about them for the serious collector, this is a great, comprehensive, well-researched view of all of them.

    Blah, Blah, Black Sheet
This book is Boyington's attempt to whitewash his failures by largely blaming them on everyone but himself. While a very gifted pilot and natural leader, Boyington was a self-centered alcoholic, and, by his own admission, a "psychopathic liar" who consistently lied to the Marine Corps and consistently lies in this book. Regrettably, the Marine Corps has accepted his lies about his aerial victories while in the American Volunteer Group (he claims six, the records show two)and his unconfirmed (and unconfirmable) claims of two victories in addition to the one confirmable one the day he was shot down and captured by the Japanese, January 3, 1944. As a result, the Marine Corps accepts his full claim of 28 victories, which would put him two ahead of Joe Foss and make him the top-scoring Marine ace of World War II. Interestingly, the American Fighter Aces Association only credits him with 24 victories and credits Foss as the top-scoring Marine ace. If you want a well-researched, TRUE depiction of Boyington's life, read Bruce Gamble's "Black Sheep One."

Great photo and art print printer!
This is a specialty printer, designed to produce very high-quality photo and art prints, which it does very well. It is much slower than a regular printer and its ink is more expensive, so it is not suited for printing ordinary documents, and you will also need a regular inkjet or laser printer for those. It is also much larger than a regular printer, so you will need room for it. But, if you want to produce really outstanding photo and art prints, this is a great printer.
