nice neck knife
Bought this as a gift for someone deploying, but when I got it, I saw it was not as good as I had hoped, in that the scabbard was not fitting the knife well enough to make it safe for my daughter's neck, especially when it would be under lots of weight in armor & packs. So, I kept it and I am making another, better fitting scabbard for it. Good sharp, thin blade, which is what is needed for that sort of tool, holds the edge well enough for an inexpensive knife. The short green cord attached to it probably could be longer, could be the actual neckpiece. I have lots of leather to make my own cord, but will use the braided leather cords sold for making bolos with.

YOU GOTTA GET THIS MIRROR!
1 of 1 found this helpful Finest materials & technology; 2 mirrors inside with magnification, lighting on one to aim light up at your face while the magnification shows you an excellently clear vision of your face for makeup! The size is great; not too big nor TOO small; it has a well polished exterior, good spring on its safety clip holding it secure! I was greatly pleased with this; a good value. More than I expected to spend but what I got was exactly worth the value, probably more!

GOTTA GET THIS TO SOLDER GOLD/SILVER/QUALITY
The first book I was recommended was over $100; that was 5 yrs ago and I still havn't ever gotten a budget for that. The next book was around $20, it was a ridiculous waste of money; not what it was said to be; the soldering is all about wierd montages of mishmash pieces of junk; like artsy wannabe's would do for Ol Hippy Week. I got nothing out of it; not even basics for soldering temperatures, materials that go together, it only gave the author's art patterns for piecing his/her own things together!! Like, does anyone wanto copy your stuff? OKAY, I read that this book would cover gold and silver, gave exact specs to do stuff by...gave it a chance, and WOW; cannot even compare this book by Ms. Jeanette Caines on soldering to those others wrongly stating they were. Her fabulous photos are just the beginning of how exacting her details are on actually soldering from what tools, what workbench gear and WHY (so very important to someone like ME and probably anyone who is inquisitive and a "do it myself" kinda person!!! I began reading immediately, after so much other disappointment, and wanted to know if her book was any good. I had to make myself stop to go to dinner! I understood her step processes, had just enough detail in her explanations where needed, and she was SO well editted! Since I can ramble on forever, she is precise, concise, yet colorful in her details. I have collected my workbench tools, but had questions on completing my outfit that she has answered, so I can finish that important obstacle to finally soldering important material. I have tons of .925 silver, some Fine Silver, some 9, 10, 14,18 Kt gold, but a lot of goldfilled, and the goldfilled solder for that. In my first half hour reading, Jeanette answered my most important question: "what do I use to solder gold with?" Turns out that I need to step down in Kt from whatever the gold piece I am soldering is, so an 18 Kt ring needs 14 Kt or less gold solder, etc. My goldfill solder is good for .925 silver soldering jobs, which I did find out before, but my gold & goldfill jobs are what is most important for the repairs & accessory work I am planning on doing in adjunct to my regular artwork projects. I will never be robbing any work from regular goldsmiths or repairpersons, but I hope my artwork will be bolstered by this valuable and ancient skill, thanks to Jeanette Cairne's book. I bet I will read it over and over, and bless another artist with it someday....way later!
