The difference between the Roomba of a decade ago and the new models is night and day. Setup included mapping the rooms in the house, where it spent an hour going around and finding all the places it could go. I was amazed at how well it performed this task, even going as far as identifying the type of room accurately (kind of spooky how well it did)
I did some minor adjustments to the divisions between rooms, and adjusted a few room names and it is set up to go.
I made a daily task to have it clean the kitchen and dining room, and it handles that great. When the time comes, it just moves itself into the dining room and goes to work.
When it is done with any task, it goes back to it's home base and empties itself out.
I was a bit worried getting a refurbished unit, but was glad that it came with a short manufacturer warranty. It came in generic packaging with only a small intro sheet telling us to use the App to set up the Roomba.
Despite being "used" there were no scratches on the device, and it was clean, charged, and ready to go.
I'm happy with my purchase, and am glad to get a quality unit for cheaper than a new one.
