Long shot pays off big!
The remote control handset for my 20 year old MasterCool MW5500 evaporative cooler bit the dust, leaving me to have to climb a ladder to operate the controls as it is installed well above reach. No replacement handsets were available anywhere. Fortunately I turned to Ebay and searched for options, uncovering this potential solution and improvement. Of course the included batteries were long dead, but otherwise this unit works flawlessly once installed as directed in the included instructions. This has saved me a lot of money and/or hassle because my only other options were to replace the entire cooler or to remove the main control panel and hard wire it in an accessible location. Super happy with this product!
