    Perfect.
I needed to cheaply replace my daughter's phone and this worked very well.

    New to Captivate, Still learning
To be upfront, while I am not new to smartphones, I am new to the touchscreen smartphone, especially Android. I avoided it for a long time; I wanted the best of both worlds real QWERTY keyboard AND a touchscreen plus a flash, you know like the Samsung Galaxy S Epic, on Sprint, but I am on AT&T so I am left with the Captivate, but I am wowed. Sure, I think that the keyboard and flash would have been great, but the Captivate so far is responsive, moves fast, and has a ton of memory. I am not sure how many new apps I have put on it in 2 days, but they have not even dented the 'in-phone' memory. I watched a ton of reviews and how-tos on Youtube and they are right, believe it or not, the camera works in low light situations. Yes, the pictures are still dark (why, oh why, Samsung did you not give the Captivate a flash???) but there are pictures!!! Not horrible ones either. The homescreens are fun and the applications (from the official Android Market) are almost endless. There seem to be some quite noticably missing, but hopefully they will come soon (POCKET GOD you are needed!!!) and I have not had to buy one of them yet. I can't compare it to Iphone (except to say it is a lot cheaper) but I can say so far so ggggrrrreeeeaaaattttt!!!! One thing to add is that there are enough videos and websites based on Android phones/ Captivate specifically to help any newbie, such as myself, not only come to grips with the loss of a physical keyboard but to actually make me love the Captivate. Actually, to be fair, the Captivate made me love it, but the online support made me know that a lot sooner.
