More camera than I needed and maybe too much for me.
This is my first foray into DSLR cameras so I can't do any comparative analysis. Also I've only had the camera a short time so I am still learning the instrument. Add to that I am the furthest thing from a "tech head." I'm actually more than a little bit of a Luddite. All that said, I will offer my first impressions. The camera seems to have tons of features, the vast majority of which I have no use for and will never use. I simply wanted a better camera/lens combination than my lousy phone camera for capturing images and video (mainly) of the wildlife in my backyard. But the numerous buttons, dials and switches, many of which seem to be redundant, are taking me a while to learn. I would have preferred a much simpler and more intuitive instrument. I'm not aspiring to be a professional photographer or even a serious hobbyist. But price was a major issue for me and this was the cheapest option I could find. I fear it's going to take me quite some time to learn how to use the camera properly. That said, the image quality I have been able to get so far seems decent and meets my expectations. And I am making progress, however slow, in learning how to use the camera. Perhaps I'll feel differently about it after spending more time with it.

I'm completely happy with the GNX3. It does all I wanted and more.
1 of 1 found this helpful I had been wanting to try a guitar multi-effects unit for a number of years but hadn't been able to convince myself to buy one. I'm not that great a player. I'm an advanced intermediate at best so didn't feel right spending much money. I was hoping to find one for under maybe $70 but couldn't find one for that price with the expression pedal. I was actually about to buy a Zoom when I found this used GNX3. I thought if I could get it for around $100 that all the features it provided would be well worth it. I ended up paying $125. Well, I haven't been disappointed. This unit does far more than the cheaper pedals I was looking at. Any effect imaginable is here and all can be combined anyway you like, with control over individual parameters of each effect. Amp and cabinet modeling? Check. And the fact that it has an 8 track recorder was the deciding factor. As other reviewers have stated, some quality time with the manual is a must if you are going to understand all the features the GNX3 has. I spent a couple of weeks being baffled and intimidated by the thing until I finally broke down and printed one out from Digitech's website. It's been pretty smooth sailing since then. Just sorry I wasted that initial time trying to figure it out by trial and error. It was in going through the tutorial on how to edit a present that I really started to understand how the unit worked. So please take the time to read the manual. I do wish I could build a preset from scratch though. You have to start with one of the factory presets and work from there. No real big deal though. I usually start with the preset labeled "COMP CLN" and work from there. The GNX3 fits all my needs at the moment. It's going keep me busy for a while learning all I can do with it. I'm really happy with it and glad I took the leap and got it.
