Tales of Terror: 200 Horror Movies [50 Discs] DVD Region 1

Bottom of the Barrel

Very well packaged and alluring, but most of the 200 movies are sub-standard productions and old drive-in rejects. And most are blurry, muddy prints that apparently were not even worth digitally remastering.

False Claim: Not Digitally Remastered

I bought this item because the manufacturer (DigiView Productions) claimed that it has been digitally remastered,even,restored! But when I played it and compared it to a copy that I already own (from Alpha Video Classics), it not only is more inferior in picture quality, but many scenes are cut short in dialog when compared to the Alpha Video version! Indeed, my video guide clocks the original running time at 73 minutes, while DigiView gives an approximate running time of 60 minutes! What does that tell you? To me, it seems to indicate that a film may be digitally transferred from an old, inferior T.V. copy that has been chopped up for commercial inserts, and then pawned off as being digitally remastered alright, but not from the original film negative which makes all the difference in quality and proper length. Buyer beware!
