DRV8825 Stepper Driver Board
These boards seem to be sort of generic products with a lot of people selling what appears to be the same board. It's hard to tell where various vendors may be sourcing the materials. One wonders most about fake Chinese chips (or off-spec "pulls") that work, but maybe not up to spec. The purple solder mask may indicate that the boards are sourced from OSHpark, which would indicate a domestic manufacture I believe.
I ordered 20 of these boards for a class and one didn't work at all - so maybe the testing is not that great?
The price was enough lower than "real" electronic vendors (with a website, address, phone number and real expertise) that it was still economical in the end. I used these in a class and so far so good - except as mentioned for the dead one. If I was building something for myself that I expected to work for a while I'd buy known quality from a known vendor.
One complaint is that the trimpot that sets the current, turns all the way around (no stops). I was extremely gentle because I know it's possible to ruin trimpots turning them "past the stops". So pretty cheesy quality trim pots I'd say.
The other 19 units worked fine and performed as advertised as far as I can tell.

Seems to work fine. Probably a little cheaper than going through my bike shop. One difference than the original equipment is that the brake cable is routed back along the bars instead of sticking out at right angles like the older Sora shifters.
This is a good thing - similar to 105 shifters etc.
