Wide Hard Metal Hood

Okay but not a precision instrument.
This is a very solid construction compass, very heavy, and it looks very good. But is not a high precision instrument. It's not a "professional" instrument as they call it. However if you are NOT looking for "A Real Professional Instrument" and don't need high precision you can be very happy with it. I removed the metal clinometer from mine since the weight of the needle was always in the way every time I closed the compass. Verdict? The price is low ($20) and if we keep the that in mind I would say it's fine. But don't think it is a precision instrument, as they say, you get what you pay for.
