This is the better version of Repertoire's two "Extended" releases.
Repertoire Records' handling of the release of this compilation of extended mixes from 1979 - 1984 has been something of a debacle, this being the second version of what was previously just called "Extended - The 12" Mixes". That one had some problems, namely that what was labelled as the 1979 12" version of The No. 1 Song In Heaven is in fact a vastly different remix from 1998, and that what was labelled as the extended version of Young Girls wasn't. This version rectifies those issues, giving us the first CD release of the actual extended version of Young Girls, and the proper No. 1 Song In Heaven, which, although it's the same as the album version (as is the La Dolce Vita 12" version), makes for a much less jarring listening experience. The other thing is that the tracks are sourced from vinyl, but they sound pretty good. Overall, I would recommend this to Sparks fans, but stress that this is the version to go for, not the previous one.

Another underrated gem from Sparks.
The 18th album from the influential pop duo, full of cutting-edge, ingenious techno tunes, and as catchy as ever. If this had been by the Pet Shop Boys, it would have been hailed as a masterpiece. Originally available in four different coloured covers - blue, red, yellow and green.
