Sony PS3 Slim 250G!!
First off, I'd like to say I bought this brand new for $290 (which is great since they cost $350 plus tax) yet the person I bought it from obviously tested it or played it which pissed me off, since the controller packaging was already opened plus I didn't have the full 250 gb which was very annoying, more like 202 gb. Other than that thought, what you can do with this machine is simply amazing!! Love the blu-ray feature, brings your movies even more to life. The graphics on most games are stellar and totally mind-blowing!! Love how easy it is to switch from listening to music to downloading videos, play a game or go to PS network on the fly. The Wi-Fi factor for internet use is a breeze and a huge plus!! With all that is included and all it's fine capabilities, the PS3 slim is a sweet, masterful piece of hardware that delivers, not disappointed whatsoever. Keep at it Sony.Read full review...
Playstation 3 Slim 250 GB
Bottom line, if you're looking for a blu ray player, this is the most future proof player you can purchase. A PS3 slim for 250 is a decent purchase if you only consider that factor alone.
I see no difference in the games that are common between this system and the xbox - you still have to pay for the DLC, but you don't have to pay to play online...for now.
As for PS3 exclusives...GOW3 and Uncharted 2 were draws for me, but I have to be honest - the X360 has great games in Mass Effect 2 and Gears of War.
Bottom line, if you have a blu ray player...I'd probably go with the X360, but since I needed to get a BR player due to a recent move, I went with a PS3.Read full review...
Sony Playstation 3 Slim 250GB PS3
I give the ps3 an excellent rating. I love the Blu ray feature, and would definitely recommend this unit to a friend. The graphics are most definitely the best of the 3 major gaming consoles. (Wii, PS3, XBOX 360) I get maximum quality from my system by using it on my new Samsung LED TV and HDMI cable hook-up. Another cool feature of this system is the picture library. You just upload your pictures and you can make a cool slideshow. Also this system sets it self apart from the rest because of the free online gameplay. You do not have to purchase memberships such as the xbox live. This system is virtually a small computer. The browser features resemble a pc. The only downfall to this system is freeing up time for yourself to be able to play it.Read full review...
Spend your time with a PS3 & be happy
Whats Really Good:
Well for one thing the Price. No longer will it cost an arm, leg and everything else just to get one. no long will you have to save all the money you have to get one.
Games: Yes they got games on here and don't believe them Xbox360 fan-boys. They have something for everyone. PS1 classic games for those who grew up playing them or just want to relive them. You can also play PS1 disc game too.
More than 3 years into the PS3 life more great games are coming out.
Price for older games lower on ebay now but maybe not in store thank God for ebay.
Online well as of now it may be free but that to be seen. either way it good but i am not in charge of that but lets hope it stays free. You can also play friends online as well as strange people too.
Demos: Lots of these and with a large hard drive you have plenty of space.
Hard drive : 250gb well more like 232 but still a lot yes that what you end up with but it all good. If you wanted one larger a 320 is also out there for those who need more. (wow what are you doing with it if you need more space??)
PSN is a great play and you can find a lot of great things here and believe me you will.
The PS3 is lighter & slimmer & better looking I think.
HDMI output for 1080p resolution
Ensures that visuals come alive with incredible depth and clarity on your high-definition screen. Holy freak this looks good.
DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller :
Every one should know how this is. It the best controller to ever come out coming from a guy who never had a PS2 or PS1. (just a Saturn) they made this even better than before.
7.1 audio :
Envelops you in the sound of your favorite movies and games, immersing you fully in the viewing or gaming experience. Gives you a reason to update your home theater Sound amazing holy!
Built-in Wi-Fi :
Makes it easy to connect to the Internet for exciting additional entertainment options.
Blu-ray Disc player: Now come lets just say it worth it it self just to get.
It also plays DVDs so enjoy all your favorite videos.
Netflix: Oh Yeah lets just say that things got better with this not only Dvds but stream them to you PS3
World Wide Web: Lets just say if you want to watch videos, Myspace, Ebay, Facebook, Bank of america, email, it all here. Maybe not as good as a PC but still good. keyboard also for the PS3 to make things easier.
Music, videos, Photos, you get all of this too.
Photos on your PS3 to show to all of your family,
Videos watch all your videos on your PS3 and enjoy.
Music Listen to all your music on your PS3 and stream Music from a PC to you PS3 My acer 5532 can but I do not know about all PC's
Download music from a PS3 to a MP3 player without a PC. (for those who do not won a PC this is big. You don't have to be going to a friends house every time you need new music)
anything else I can't think of right now because the super bowl is on colts vs saints.
The slim PS3 only has 2 USB ports (like my PC) but it cool because you can use a PC USB port to charge your controllers. so not really a problem but yeah.
Software Compatibility is gone. no playing PS2 games on this but then again over 100 million people have a PS2 & it so cheap if you really want to play PS2 games get a PS2 then.
No Flash memory readers: well you can buy this too on ebay under 10 $.
No Linux on the PS3 damn.
Over all I am happy that I have a PS3 because I can do pretty much anything besides play games and met a lot of cool people playing online too.Read full review...
sony is the way to go
The good: Swanky design with quiet operation; all games in high-definition; PSP-like user-friendly interface; plays high-def Blu-ray movies in addition to upscaling standard DVDs; built-in Wi-Fi and flash media reader; 60GB hard drive; online play is free; HDMI output with 1080p support; no external power supply; free online gaming service; plays PS2 and PS1 games; backwards compatibility is hardware based.
The bad: Compelling exclusive games are still few and far between; PlayStation Home and rumble controller not available until 2008; a USB port on the back would've been nice; no infrared port means non-Bluetooth universal remotes aren't compatible; glossy black finish is a fingerprint magnet; online gaming, media, and commerce options not nearly as developed as Xbox Live.
The bottom line: The high-end Sony PlayStation 3's larger hard drive and ability to play PS2 games makes it a worthwhile alternative to the cheaper model--so long as you're willing to wait several months for the more promising exclusive titles to hit store shelves. If backward compatibility is your top priority, this hard-to-find model may be worth the search.Read full review...
