This is great hard drive if you need high capacity but are limited to ATA

I bought this hard drive for my modified original Xbox gaming console because Seagate makes quality products and also, 750GB is the largest capacity for hard drives that are in IDE/ATA configuration. In the case of the average person however, you are probably planning on installing this hard drive inside a PC, not an Xbox. Thats OK, because it would work great in any PC that does not have SATA capability. It is a 7200RPM drive and it has a 16MB cache which means faster access to data. It can be difficult to find this capacity hard drive at a fair price because they are a little more scarce than smaller capacities. However, if you keep looking, you will eventually find a good price. As of this writing, I bought this hard drive for about $0.106 per Gigabyte (about $80) which is not bad at all considering the capacity. Other sellers are charging $100, $150, and even $225 which is stupid and greedy. Overall this is a great hard drive to buy if your PC doesnt have SATA connections. If it does, buy a SATA hard drive because SATA is the new generation of data transmission which means its cheaper and faster than IDE/ATA.Read full review...

Really satisfied. Great Drive. Never had problems.

I actually have 2 of this exact same model. Both are workhorses that have never let me down. Seagate is a well known product. I use one for long term archive storage and the other is my dual boot system disk: both XP and Windows 7 ultimate. Plus it also holds 2 other partitions 1 for short term archive and 1 for current working storage. . 100,100,200,300G respectively. .
I have noticed these drives do tend to be a little noisier than my maxtor drive. For me it doesn't bother that much, but for some; they may not like it. I refer to it as drive chatter when in heavy use such as transferring large 4G files like dvd's. I have noticed that without the jumper in 3G Sata II mode, they are noisier than when strapped/jumpered in the 1.5G config. In reality, I truly haven't noticed much difference in performance between the 2 modes. Startup, Seek, and Read/write times are nearly identical between modes. Both modes appear to be extremely fast compared to my old Maxtor and Western digital IDE drives.
Would I buy 1 of these again if needed?
Yes! Without any hesitation! .
Well back to work. Transferring/editing 50yr old 8mm family home movies to computer and then disk. Still have over 120hrs of raw footage left to do. So, Happy Computing to all!

Seagate Barracuda ST3750640AS 750 GB SATA Hard Drive

This is another quiet and well performing drive from Seagate. I bought this one used, and it still purrs like a kitten. I highly reccommend Seagate hard drives to anyone looking to upgrade their system or obtain more reliable storage room.Read full review...

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 750 GB SATA Hard Drive

Installed easily, is fast, and easily configurable.
I purchased this drive as a secondary drive for storage of video and other graphic files over several western digital drives.. I've always had good luck with Seagate drives, whereas I've had a Western Digital die after only 2 years.. Still want to get family photos off of that drive also..Read full review...

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 750 GB SATA II Hard Drive

Quite, fast, cheap for the amount of space, also heavy and very well built. Quick seek, handles large file transfers easily.

Seagate Barracuda Hard Drive

This is a 750 and it is a wonderful hard drive. It is the best you can buy and it delivers what you need. It is fast, and has lots of storage space. It is well worth my money.
