For the money, I couldn't be happier.

This bass has a great sound, good feel to it. Strings are set at a nice height . Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, pickups are weak, I've had to turn amp up a few points to equal the volume of my Yamaha RBX. But like I said, for the price you can't have it all. I would highly recommend this to any new bass player or an established bass player moving onto a 5 string.Read full review...

You'll need to do a little work

The first bass I got had a bad volume pot, but the pickups growled. Sent it back and the one's pickups weren't nearly as cool and has a scratchy input jack. Both basses needed setups, but played great after some neck adjustments. Get what you pay for. I paid $130 and put some time into it and I really like the bass. At some point I will be changing the pickups thoughRead full review...

backup bass

I play some bass here and there. My main bass is a left-hand Dean that I like a lot. But, I wanted a second bass that did not have active pickups in case my battery died or a string broke. Plus, when people come over to jam, I wanted to have a regular right hand bass available. I gave this bass five stars for what it is -- a really inexpensive bass that is a good deal for the price and plays ok out of the box. Setup was good, octaves are accurate, string height ok (for me) and pickup height where I understand they ought to be. Interestingly, I did a lot more adjusting on the Dean. Sound is very "bright" compared to my Dean, but that may be partly due to newer strings. In any event, along with having a backup bass I have a somewhat different range of sounds available. This purchase worked out very well -- of course, I haven't had it very long and haven't played it much more than just to see if it is playable and what it sounds like.Read full review...

My first Rogue Instrument purchase, won't be my last.

When the Bass Guitar arrived I tuned it then I checked the intonation and was pleasantly surprised when I found that at EVERY FRET POSITION the Rogue LX205B 5-String Series III was in perfect tune, W O W ! ! !Read full review...

EXCELLENT BASS

Somebody must have had a great day at work at the Rogue factory when they built this bass! It is very, very nice! I bought this for a Christmas present for my grandson. He loves it! I actually set it up for him, but he popped a string trying to tune it. So, ever since then he's been a little afraid to touch it and break it. But I play professionally, and I'd have no problem taking it out on any gig! Looks good; sounds good; I didn't have to do ANYTHING to set it up (except put a new set of strings on it after he broke one)... I really wish I could have found the Rogue 6-String Bass! I had one before that perished in the great house fire of 2014! But I loved that bass!! Even though I took the insurance money, added about $2,000 to it, and bought a much more "showy" 6-String Ibanez Premium; it plays almost as well~~and I know that's a little bit of a stretch, but this is out of the box. If I put the Elixir's on THIS bass and take it out. There's studio and live...without a hitch! This is a nice axe!! I've been playing 49 Years, and 50 in a few months. I should know!!Read full review...

Well worth the money....

I had to give a really inexpensive bass a try. I was very pleasantly surprised
by this guitar, good action, neck, pickups, etc. It was setup pretty well straight out of the box
and the only adjustment I intend to make is new strings and then set intonation. I really can't say enough about how good this guitar is for the money, I would recommend this guitar to anyone.Read full review...

5 string bass

Needed some TLC on the action, but otherwise it's a great buy for the money! Handles Drop A tuning perfectly. Tone is good.

What I needed.

It fit into my budget, looks cool, sounds great and easy to play. I haven't picked up a bass in a while because mine broke and wasn't that great to begin with, but when I did a started playing, it's smooth playability helped a lot given the deficit of practice and I was on the road of writing again.Read full review...

very happy! !

I've been playing more than a decade and this is just flat out a good deal. Double boxed and insulated, came in perfect condition, couldn't be happier. The passive J style pickups leave a little bit too be wanting as far as range of tone, but for just over a C note I'm not complaining. Thanks guysRead full review...
