Genuine quality. Much better performance than a universal or remake.

Really makes a difference getting a genuine Sony control. We have bought others that look similar, but did not perform as well. Meaning they where slow and didn't always accept a command-having to re -enter channel number multiple times. Look closely at the re -makes, they will not have the same cover on the end of control where the signal leaves to reach the TV. The genuine controllers have a smooth red lens cover. We also noticed that the genuine one weighs more than a re make. I would always prefer an original Sony over a remake, even if it costs more and is previously owned.Read full review...

Not functional

The buttons on this remote worked inconsistently even if you pressed really hard. The remote only worked from 10-12 feet away from the TV. Our original SONY remote worked from 25 feet away with no problems. And yes, the batteries were brand new and at full charge (checked with a volt meter).Read full review...

Sony replacement

Sony replacement . This remote is almost identical to the original remote for my 40 inch Sony Bravio TV. It works the same. The only difference I can tell from the original is that this remote must be pointed directly at the TV while the original Sony could be held at a 45° angle and still function. That's no big deal.
