Adjustable chuck works fine

I've used twice and my boyfriend has used it a few time as well. What's nice for me is that it can hold very small drills, etc, something a standard Dremel collet can't.
For my purposes I could get the tool tight enough so the drill did not slip. My boyfriend (another purpose) felt he had to resort to a channel lock to tighten the chuck, but as I was not there to witness, I don't know if he really had to or if it was a perception issue. While Dremels spin fact they really have limited torque so slippage should not be a major concernRead full review...

Ok,but not a real big improvement.

Seems well made but really not much different than the original collet bushings as far as you still have to use another tool shaft to block the rotation to loosen or tighten an accessory bit. This is not like the keyless chuck used on larger drills,it just eliminates having to change bushings on different size bits and accessory shafts, but it looks well made.Just judge for yourself if it is worth the price for a minor improvement. Worked for Custom made Security Pins

I needed this in order to make custom made security pins for a Schlage Training lock I'm working on. I ordered some 0.115" 260 Brass round stock, and the Dremel keyless chuck was modified a little by using a file to file down the nose of the chuck, so that even at the most open position of the chuck the chuch teeth or jaws were exposed or flush with the outside of the chuck. Then I used 1000 and then 2000 grit sand paper to finish the nose of the chuck to a mirror like shine. Thanks for offering this, great purchase. The pin(s) spin without any wobble, and the chuck works very well.Read full review...

High Precision, Excellent Grip

The Dremel brand keyless chuck is quite well-made; it's very precise and holds mandrels very well, even better than a collet when thinner mandrels are involved.

It attaches to my Dremel 2050 (Stylo+) in place of the collet nut, and is still nicely balanced; although there's a fair bit of resistance when turning the chuck to loosen/tighten the jaws, this is beneficial. Perhaps the greatest benefit to me personally, is the fact that the chuck distances the bit head away from the body of the unit, making it a little easier to work on larger objects or for detailed fine work.

I'm glad I purchased this accessory, and it's much easier to use than changing collets all the time.

Indispensable!

If you own a Dremel or similar rotary tool with the same size output shaft thread, you NEED to have this highly versatile chuck! You can change between all sorts of different tool bits VERY QUICKLY. Just make sure you place the working end of your tool bits as close to the chuck clamping jaws as possible. Extending the working bit much longer than needed can be harder on your rotary tool.Read full review...

Good/Bad

I bought this to save time in changing collets and because I thought it would enable me to tighten bits by hand. It can save changing collets, It does not tighten adequately by hand, I still use a wrench. It did screw right on to my Black & Decker tool, which I hoped it would. I have been using it a lot for grinding/cutting/burring steel and for that purpose I don't really recommend it. It has gotten a really gritty feel when tightening and it may be from the grinding dust. It may fare better for cleaner purposes. All in all, I am still using it in preference to the original collar.Read full review...

Dremel Chuck

The chuck I received was not an oem dremel chuck. It looks like a knockoff, not the high gloss black finish like an actual Dremel chuck. It doesn't hold the bits or cutting wheels true, which can be a big deal when using .5mm bits or .015" cutting wheels. Read full review...

Dremel Keyless chuck for rotary tools.

Both chucks had the same problem- the collet guide was too small which meant the tools would not fully seat down into the tool head. Slight reaming with a diamond burr fixed the problem and all tools* now fully seat into the chuck.
*The Dremel 1/8 drill bit (actually slightly larger than 1/8") will NOT fit these chucks (but DOES fit into my old one). The wall thickness of the collet guide is too small to be reamed to fit the drill bit... but again, the other tools now slide fully into both chucks and lock securely.
This slight under-size of the collet guide is an annoying problem to have indicating poor quality control from the factory. Nevertheless, the chucks are a good value after this fast fix.

works great

I use this everyday in an industrial environment and it has held up great. Sometimes the Dremel would get hot and heavy to hold after a while. This flexible shaft never gets hot and is lightweight to hold all day long. I highly recommend itRead full review...
