Both boxes opened, plastic bag containing the Ag+ removed, then returned to box without Ag+; each box was resealed. My discussions with the seller indicate that he was unaware of the problem, but I never heard a final resolution to his investigation of his stock. At the very least, they're not "new". They did both work, so I kept them. The Ag+ cartridges are sold on Amazon for $10 (amzn<dot>to/49vOWSd). OK value.

That’s exactly what I did. The exact faucet we wanted for about half the price, just because the box was badly damaged. The faucet was new as described, and unharmed despite the damage on the box as described by seller. What a deal! Shipping time was good as well. I highly recommend this seller! Thanks!
