The White Elephant store is a family owned sporting goods and toy retailer that became a Spokane landmark. In 1946, after returning from his service in WWII, our founder began selling war surplus. The inventory began to build based on the passions of fishing, outdoor recreation, and finding the best deal. After marriage and the growth of family, the White Elephant began selling toys. With children, grandchildren, many extended family, and dear friends closely involved in the business, many opportunities for expansion presented themselves. But our founder always settled on keeping the business a small local operation. Our brick and mortar stores closed in 2020 but we continue to offer limited treasures for sale in our online store. The White Elephant remains a unique family centered retailer whose legacy will stand the test of time.
