About us
South Face Quail Farm, LLC is an NPIP (National Poultry Improvement Plan) Certified Organic Jumbo Brown Coturnix Quail research/breeding operation. We focus on Jumbo Brown because they are one of the largest quail laying some of the largest eggs. Our quail live outdoors on the earth and in the sun where they can scratch, dirt bathe, run, fly, or enjoy the rain or snow, but they do have spacious houses to get out of the elements if they want to. They have beautiful plumage.
The birds are fed organic vegetarian-based feed and given access to clean environmentally sealed water. They do not receive any chemical stimulation, growth hormones, or artificial lighting. Since they do not receive artificial lighting, they have nature's egg-laying cycle generally from March to September. So, nearly half the year, they aren't working ... yes, these are rich quail. We believe all this produces a better egg and stronger chicks (albeit at a higher cost). But, it's all about quality, here.
