Jay Rather has been offering his Modern, Hand Carved, American Indian Style Pipes to Native Americans and others for personal Prayer Pipes, Medicine Pipes and for Ceremonial use for well over fifteen years. His work has been purchased by collectors, museums, educational institutions, & the motion picture industry throughout North America, Europe, Australia & New Zealand. Rather uses Quality Sacred Pipestone aka. Catlinite & Steatite, used by pipe makers of the past. Styles include: Plains T Pipes, Effigy, Disc, Platform, Tube, Hawk Pipes, Mic-Mac, & Elbow Pipes. In addition to pipes Rather is a knife maker & knapper. He also creates fine celts, axes, banner stones, gorgets, discoidals, pendants & more. Jay hand carves quality wood & stone stems of all styles, too. He is also a National award winning Watercolor Artist, selling paintings to corporate & private collections in the U.S. His work's been exhibited nationally & in major watercolor publications.
