In recent years I, a fine artist with over 25 years of experience, have found myself very
interested in antique and vintage objects. These pieces are often time-worn and wrought with
imperfections, but it is these imperfections themselves that are the true charm of unique/
original antiques, as opposed to the mass-produced furniture of America today. These marks,
rather than flawing the furniture, instead relate the personal history that each artifact contains.
The ultimate beauty in decorative arts and furniture is this sense that a piece contains with in
itself traces of all the places it has been, the lives it has affected throughout its journey across
the earth. We can only imagine in our contemporary mindsets the things which these pieces of
wood, cloth, and stone, have encountered. The objects offered here are from the artist's personal collection of art, objects, and antiques - and the inspiration for many collected paintings.
