All of history has been written and recorded in the fashion of its times. In an era of abundance, dresses are adorned with jewels, they contain layers of bright colorful fabric and complex handwork stitching. In a period of strife, people wear subdued colors of plain cloth, containing nothing more that the fasteners required to keep them on the body. If you have a historical garment, you have a snap shot of the morale and economy of the people who lived during the decade it was worn. At Period Dolls, we create historically correct dolls, as well as buy, sell and collect a cross section of history, both foreign and domestic. The overwhelming majority of our inventory are true collector's pieces. They provide teachable moments for both the young and the old among us. The old reflect, on a time that was, while the young develop dreams of how they will build their wardrobe for life. Enjoy this hobby and pass it on.
