The Air Jordan 5 Silhouette

The Jordan brand released the original Air Jordan 5 in 1990 as the fifth signature sneaker of Michael Jordan. Designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 5 followed the inspiration of the World War II Mustang fighter jet. Other monumental features of this sneaker include the 3M reflective material on the tongue, side panels, and mesh netting. The brand released the sneaker in four original colorways. The first retro happened in 2000, 10 years after the original.

Over the years, the brand has released many retros of new and old colorways to keep the Jordan 5 style alive. This sneaker was the first to feature a clear rubber sole and incorporated a host of performance features. The Jordan 5 silhouette saw a fresh release of collaborations and retros in 2022.

DJ Khaled and Air Jordan 5 We the Best Sail

DJ Khaled is one of the biggest sneakerheads in the music industry, inspiring millions worldwide. Khaled collaborated with Air Jordan 5 and dressed the sneaker in premium tumbled leather on the upper. The upper color is a light Sail, but the sneaker features colorful accents throughout.

The leather overlay on the toebox hosts white plastic eyestays and a plastic side cage netting that supports flat white laces. The sneaker features a light blue quilted material lining the internal collar and the tongue. The standard Air Jordan branding behind the tongue is replaced with “Keep Going.” At the back of the heel, the sneaker has the words “We the Best” on one shoe and “Keep Going” on the other, embroidered in a shade of gold.

At the underfoot, you will find a two-tone purple and black midsole with the exposed Air unit on the heel. The shark teeth synonymous with the Air Jordan 5 are covered in a white and gray speckled design. This sneaker was released in November 2022 after extended hype on social media by DJ Khaled and his fans.

This is a women’s sneaker made of Gore-Tex, a waterproof yet breathable membrane. This membrane has played an integral role in the footwear industry for decades. This release is based on the original Black Metallic colorway of Air Jordan 5. The sneaker comes with a black Durabuck upper, tongue shaft, rubberized mesh midfoot windows, and a distinctive tongue. It has washed-out black covering the Gore-tex. Also, it features “Gore-Tex” on the lateral heel of the left shoe and “23” embroidered on the lateral heel of the right shoe.

The Air Jordan 5 Concord returned in 2022 with a new makeover. This contemporary iteration contains elements meant for modern streetwear. As seen on eBay, the Air Jordan 5 Concord offers mesh windows on the sidewalls to improve breathability. Some unaltered classic features include a silver palette on the tongue tabs and hints of blue and black to contrast with the white base. The sneaker has minimal branding for a classy and simplistic appearance. The rubber textured outsole provides effortless grip on all surfaces, including wet and slippery ones.
