Jordan 1 Shadow Colorway OG and Retro Specs
The Jordan 1 Shadow has been rereleased in High, Mid, and Low silhouettes, each with unique characteristics.
The Shadow colorway was one of the original colorways for the Air Jordan 1 silhouette. Designed by Peter Moore, Jordan 1s are among the most recognizable sneakers in the world. In the 1980s, Nike shocked everyone by signing Michael Jordan to a massive endorsement deal before he’d ever stepped foot on the professional court. To coincide with his rookie year, Moore designed the AJ1s, and history was made. Jordan went on to become a legend, and Air Jordans changed sneaker culture.
First released in 1985, the AJ1 Shadow has received several retros throughout the years. This includes releases in high, mid, and low Jordan 1 silhouettes. The OG Jordan 1 Shadow and other retros can be searched for and purchased now on eBay.
Design Specs for the Jordan 1 Shadow
The Jordan 1 Shadow colorway is black and gray with a white midsole and premium leather upper. The Swoosh is Medium Gray with a different shade of gray on the ankle, heel, and toe. The outsole is black, and the sneakers have the Wings logo on the upper ankle. The Jordan 1s do not have the Jumpman logo anywhere on the shoe — that logo didn't make its first appearance until the Air Jordan 3’s debut.
Jordan 1 Shadow High Retro Releases
The Shadow colorway has been released several times in true-to-original versions, including in 2009, 2013, and 2018. The 2009 Shadow Retro features the same color scheme as the OG but uses textured gray leather on the heel, Swoosh, and toebox rather than the standard leather used in other versions. This retro also has a Jumpman logo on the heel and tongue.
In 2013, the Jordan 1 Shadow High got its second retro, this time in a Soft Gray rather than Medium Gray. This version marked a return to the standard leather uppers. The 2018 Retro Jordan 1 Shadow was the truest to the OG, having a Medium Gray and black color scheme for the uppers along with a white midsole and black outsole.
Jordan 1 Shadow Variations
Because of its popularity and a color scheme that goes with all sorts of clothing styles, the Shadow colorway has been released in mid and low silhouettes and other color variations.
Air Jordan 1 Mid Shadow
In 2021, the Shadow colorway got a mid release. On this shoe, the upper is smooth Particle Gray leather contrasted with black to give the sneaker a two-tone look. This release is unique in that it has Gym Red accents, including on the Wings logo. The Shadow 1 Mid Retro also features the Jumpman logo, in red, on the tongue tag. It was released in October 2021.
Air Jordan 1 Low Shadow Toe
The low silhouette version of the Jordan 1 Shadow is referred to as the Shadow Toe. The Jordan 1 Low Shadow Toe sneakers have a black, white, and Light Smoke Gray color scheme with the Wings logo stitched on the back of the heel and the Jumpman logo in white on the tongue. They were released in June 2022.
Air Jordan 1 High Shadow 2.0
The Jordan 1 High Shadow Retro that was released in May 2021 is also called Shadow 2.0. This colorway is true in design to the OG Shadow, but the gray used is lighter. It has Nike Air branding and the Wings logo on the upper heel.
