Learn more about Jordans and the Jordan 1 Low Barely Green.

Jordan sneakers have earned their stripes in the sneaker community.
With years of silhouettes and colorways to find on eBay, there is a Jordan sneaker to fit any collection, including the Jordan 1 Low Barely Green.
Air Jordan Beginnings
Back in the 80s, basketball shoes weren't designed to make a statement. The NBA had a "Uniform Code" that any sneakers on the court had to meet. The first pair of Jordans came from an endorsement between Michael Jordan and Nike not long after he got drafted into the Chicago Bulls at the start of his career in the NBA. The sneakers were banned by the NBA for not fitting their "Uniform Code." Jordan kept wearing them, and Nike agreed to pay any fines that came with him wearing the sneakers on the court. Jordan sneakers blew up with Nike's marketing of the banned sneakers and kicked off the start of the Jordan brand.
More About the Jordan 1 Silhouette
The first Jordan came in a primarily black and red colorway that Jordan referred to as "The Devil Shoes" but grew to become known as the "Bred" or "Banned" Jordans. The sneakers were designed by Peter Moore and are the only Jordan sneakers to don the Nike Swoosh logo. These sneakers also came before the Jumpman logo was introduced, so you won't find Jordan's notable symbol on OG or retro versions. The Jordan 1 also features a perforated toe and high collar as prominent features of the design. A Jordan Wings logo shows that this is a sneaker with roots from both brands in its style. The design has proven itself timeless with hundreds of renditions and refreshes on the original silhouette.
The Jordan 1 Low Barely Green Sneakers
The Jordan 1 Low Barely Green takes some of the iconic features from the original Jordan 1 but also brings in new unique design elements. Unlike the original Jordan 1 silhouette, the Barely Green Low 1s has a low top that sits just at the ankle. It does keep both the Nike Swoosh and the Jordan Wings logo for branding, as well as the perforated toe. Instead of leather materials like the original design, the Barely Green Jordans are designed with Nubuck material. The Jordan 1 Low Barely Green was released in women's sizes on August 19, 2021, in the colorway barely green/black-light arctic pink-white.
Barely Green is the hue for the majority of the upper, with sections of the sneakers divided by visible stitching on the overlays. The tongue and inner lining are gray to add a subtly contrasting color. Pink laces match the pink Jumpman logo on the tongue and the Wings logo on the heel panel. The Nike Swoosh makes pop in black. White on the midsole breaks up the color, and the textured outsole features more light green.
