The 2011 Jordan Concord 11: The Grail of Basketball Shoes

The 2011 Jordan Concord 11 is an iconic shoe that also had a retro release in 2018. Originally debuted in 1995, the Jordan 11 broke all the rules and became famous while doing it. This shoe has a light blue translucent outsole that creeps up the side.

The 2011 Jordan Concord 11 is famous for debuting Michael Jordan's number on the back of the heel. The large numbers are shown in white double lines over a black tab at the top of the collar.

Unprecedented Design by a Legendary Designer

This sneaker was groundbreaking for its black patent base resting on top of the icy translucent outsole and a white midsole. Above the patent leather, a heavily textured white textile upper section provides a backdrop for a few extra black details. Tonal stitching throughout helps solidify the high-contrast design.

In addition to the black tab on the back of the collar, the collar lining is black.

There is one large Jumpman on the lateral side of the ankle placed close to the heel section. You can also see an embroidered tag on the lower laces shown in black. It has white lettering and a small red Jumpman between two words. The lettering looks like a set of unusual symbols from the front. But if you turn the tag to the side and read it vertically, you can see “Jumpman Jordan” written in all capitals.

High-Performance Technology for a Basketball Legend

The black carbon fiber spring plate on the bottom runs the full length of the shoe. You can view parts of it through the translucent outsole around the arch.

The white lace loops are flat-woven and sewn far down the sides so that they meet the edge of the black patent base. They are arranged in a somewhat radial pattern.

The Jordan 11 is the first shoe to feature patent leather. This look is one of Tinker Hatfield's most famous. The attention-grabbing design is known for its clean appearance as well as its technology.

These sneakers have a full-length Phylon midsole and a full-length Air sole unit. The lacing system is a speed-lacing system. The outsole is gum rubber with additional traction at the forefoot and heel from herringbone inserts. These are done in blue rubber with an organically curved outline.

The Jordan 11 Concord 2011 was intentionally created with both streetwear and black-tie style in mind. Michael Jordan himself brought up the idea of including patent leather to Tinker Hatfield.
