Sell your Motors Parts & Accessories

How to sell motor parts and accessories on eBay?

Whether you’re looking to sell car parts, motorcycle parts or pre-owned tires, the first step is to determine the exact condition of all your used parts and accessories. Wear and tear are in the most cases inevitable on used car and truck components, so make sure the buyer knows about the real condition of every single part. Be as clear and specific as possible in your listing about areas of wear or damage.

You will also want to take several pictures of your used auto, motorcycle, truck or boat parts to show all of the view, especially focusing in on any areas of wear or damage. Try and take your pictures in a clean, well-lit and clutter-free environment so potential buyers aren’t distracted by a cluttered background.

Finally, create a listing title and detailed description of your item. Include the brand, manufacturer part number, and specific comments on any areas of wear or damage.

What is the best way to sell my auto parts, truck parts and motorcycle parts on eBay?

The best way to sell your items is to use parts compatibility to save on insertion fees and maximize search exposure. Listings with parts compatibility information make it fast and easy for buyers to find parts for a specific make and model and for sellers to add a single listing for parts that fit multiple vehicles. This convenient and familiar way to shop for parts means more buyers, faster sales, and fewer buyer questions.

What is the best listing strategy for motor parts and accessories?

There are 3 steps we recommend to follow in order to get your listings to sell:

  1. Create a new parts compatibility listing in one or more of the available categories (or you can revise an existing listing to add compatibility). Check that all compatible vehicle types appear in the compatibility section in your new listing. Best Match uses this information along with your title to help determine relevance to a buyer's search.
  2. Since Best Match uses compatibility information, your title, and product identifiers like brand and manufacturer part number to determine relevance, use all 80 characters of your title for other popular search elements for a chance to show up in more relevant searches. Repeating compatibility information in your title is allowed, but it is unnecessary and it will not increase exposure in eBay search. See FAQs for examples.
  3. Consolidate your existing listings. If you currently have multiple listings for one product, consolidate them into a single parts compatibility listing and avoid violating eBay's duplicate listing policy. Learn more about our duplicate listing policy.

*Pay no insertion fees for your allotted free listings per calendar month. Optional fees, including advanced listing upgrades and supplemental service fees, still apply. Pay final value fees only when you sell. Motors Vehicles, Real Estate, Heavy Equipment, Concession Trailers & Carts, Imaging & Aesthetics Equipment and Commercial Printing Presses are excluded. 12 free pictures does not apply to Motors Vehicles listings.
