This is a great charge controller that w...orks and a super value under $30, it is only for 12V systems and is best suited for using up to 15 amps. So that is up to 200 watt output total for a 12V system. If you use it at the rated output (above the 15 amps) you need to cool the unit with an external fan running during the higher output. Note it does not exceed 26 amps and at that output it will not survive without a fan, for sure stay below 20 amps. You can run more than one of these charge controllers into the same battery bank at the same time allowing you to increase the total amps into the battery bank without risk of over heating the controller. Each controller must be connected as a stand alone unit to the battery bank as if it were one by itself, meaning do NOT have any interconnections between the controllers. You can have as many as you like so in theory you would have say 5 connected to one battery bank and easily have 75 amps feeding a battery bank with no risk of overheating. That's 5X$30=$150 for a 75 amp system! Also by doing this if one fails you are still up and running with 4 till you replace it.

Works as anticipated. Great job for such a fair... price. Still need more panels to reach the 500 watts max but so far is working excellent!

I just set it up today ...and everything reads like it should, we are under very cloudy sky's so it will be a slow solar charge.

The only thing that bothers me with this unit... is that connections are different from those on the panel(s). Both are Thunderbolt.

I did not like the way everything connects to this unit. You need ...to strip wires and insert them in a screw down. Does not come with any type of pigtail to connect with factory plug on Solar panel. I wasn't going to cut my factory plug off so I never tried the unit.
