First I want to say that I have NEVER seen the word paradigm used so many times before! I lost count... Aside from that I found the book a bit of a dry read, of course I was expecting that so was not really surprised. The author does succeed in showing the reader that in most cases 'Scientific Revolution' is not so revolutionary and that in most cases it is more of a procession than a single event. I purchased this text as a recommended auxiliary reading for a Physical Science class. The professor teaching the class offered an extra credit on the final grade for reading this book and taking a test over it. I am a 44 year old student and believe in getting every bit of extra credit I can... If you are in a situation such as mine, then I advise you to get some coffee and read the book. Otherwise I would say avoid this one and find something really interesting to read.Read full review
This text presents a powerful argument to help the reader understand the process of scientific discovery and how paradigms steer and skew research to evaluate ideas only consistent with the prominent paradigm. Although the author seems to present the same information over and over, it is worth reading from cover to cover. You will walk away from reading this text with a new theory in your mind relating to the effectivness of scientific discovery and the potential limitiations paradigms place on true discovery.
One of the five basic books to read.

It's a good book by Kuhn. It's my second book by that author. I needed it in order to make a presentation in class. It was a good read. Peace, Nolan B
