I grew up on good Heavy Metal like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Dio, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, and Queensryche. Before British Steel, many JP albums had some cool songs and some trudging through the mucky sounding heavy songs. Sad Wings of Destiny is a great album because most of the songs are the really cool variety. My point is that off this album is The Ripper, and it is featured on Unleashed in The East (very underrated concert album). But The Ripper is one of their greatest songs, yet hardly ever shows up on 'Best Of..' compilations. They only replaced Rob Halford with a guy named after the song so you would think it would dawn on someone related to the JP enterprise that the true fans know and love this song. With that rant out of the way, the three songs at the end are pulled out of Unleashed in the East just so you get a taste of it. I'm really glad they did not split up "The Hellion / Electric Eye", they go together like peanut and butter. So all in all, this song has some classics that made them great and they just had to include a couple of pieces that made them fall from grace - but this really is a great selection of vintage tunes and really should be considered a must have for a collection (BUT... download "The Ripper" as it is a really great song unless you can find 'Sad Wings of Destiny'. **BONUS COMMENT** The Judas Priest DVD "Electric Eye" has early videos of the band before leather became the signature attire.Read full review
Bottom line: RE issue cd's sound horrible especially cd's that are compilations from multiple sources. Two songs sound alright: turbo lover & you got another thing coming. Overall sound is high pitched & makes your ears bleed from horrible mastering.
