Bish's Tear Mender is a rubber cement that will glu...e anything where it can penetrate the fibers. I'm rough on work clothes. I tear them up all the time. I use it to mend blue jeans, shirts, jackets, gloves and boots. It dries clear and will stand up to repeated machine washing's. HOWEVER, the area glued will turn black when exposed to the heat of a clothes dryer. Even at that though, the bond still holds. It is recommended that the area to be glued be clean and free of grease etc., and that's probably good advise, but I have glued gloves that were very dirty, greasy, and wet, and the bond still held. The glue tends to bead on the surface, so watch for run off, but it's easy to spread with your finger(s), and when you're done the dried glue on your finger(s) just rubs right off. And the bond is instant. The second you press two parts together the item is ready for use. A word of caution. Take care not to get it on anything important to you. It does not come out. And, if you want to be able to use the entire volume of the bottle, since you will likely only use a small amount at a time, twist the cap closed and store the bottle up side down. That way the glue exposed to the drying effect of air is at the now inverted bottom of the bottle, and when you up right the bottle the glue just below the cap is still liquid. Even after several uses and then many months of storage in this manner the glue is just like a fresh bottle. I definitely wouldn't recommend this for better clothes, but for rough and tumble work clothes that get worn and torn, I've not found anything better.

Couldn't wait to use it and maybe I did something wro...ng? But I followed the directions to a T but ended up with a blob of rubber feeling/looking at the repair area. The area I was repairing was caused from my wallet in my rear pocket on my Dickie Work Pants. I've had a wallet in my rear pocket for many years and never had one wear a hole?(So much for Dickie's being the best) But before it was actually a hole and just a thin spot I thought I would buy Tear Mender and fix the problem. It didn't work for me so the only Honest answer I can give above is NO I don't recommend it.

Beware this glue doesn't looks and works like the adv...ertising videos. Has a consistency and looks like milk. Very liquid like water. It does stain when it dries. Soaks the fabrics. Dries after more than half an hour. School glue will do better for fabric than this. I read other reviews about how good is and got it and boom, it doesn't do anything. It seems that this glue loses its wonders after a certain short period of time. The bottle says it has a life of 12 months after purchasing but doesn't state date of manufacture. I had to buy fabric tac. I totally regret buying tear mender. Tear mender will not work if its old. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! I don't recommend it!!! This product seems to have a very short life comparing to other fabric glues.

I covered my boat last winter and thought ...I was good to go. I tied it down with extra budgies also, and made extra stands for the inside to deter the weight of the snow. BUT I didn't even remember to close the walk threw window and didn't put some padding under the window frame edges. So when the weight of the snow came it ripped right threw the canvas. A friend had a bottle of tear mender rolling around in the back of his truck and said give it a try, I laughed when I started to use it because it's as thin as milk and started to soak threw. I let the first bit get tacky then I put some on the back side of the rip and some on the top of the other the rip on it. I put 2x4's with some weight till it dried. It held and is still holding even when I really pull it tight. some other people say they had no luck, well I just say they are not using their heads when using it. Some people want magic but are to lazy to think. Doug

Product recognized for its excellent quality, s...ince I found out about its existence I stopped using thread and needles. They just have to seal it very well after use as otherwise it dries out.
