Get out o...f here BattleToads and never come back! This is the real Double Dragon game for the Super Nintendo- hence the word Super in the title. This game is super rare and finding a working copy is next to impossible. I couldn't believe seeing it in a resell used games store behind the glass where the rare games are. I didn't have the 30-40 $$ for it so I borrowed the cash from a relative but the very next day the game was gone. If you see this game, grab it and never let go.... like I did about 20 years ago when I sold my first copy to FuncoLand for a handful of dollars. =(

Pros -- I like this port of ...DD b/c it's different from all the others. It's all about understanding enemy attacks and countering. You can't simply go in swinging. This title stands alone in the DD world. Cons -- It feels unfinished and there's no story. No opening scene with Marian (sp?) taking a hit from thugs. You hit start and you start. No cut scene or story to follow. DD doesn't have a deep backstory but it would have been nice to follow some kind of arc. It's difficult. I don't mind difficulty but as soon as you jump in enemies start the classic beat-em-up surround tactics and pummel you. You have to pick up quick that you need to counter everything which buys you time from being attacked. There's no ample time for recovery so before you know it, you can get waste a life just by the first 2 guys in the game without even getting a hit in. This game does not ease you in. Some may find this ok but it's not welcoming to people who might not be that familiar with this style of beat-em-up.

Classic "beat em up" ga...me. You get some neat skills and a rather large arsenal of attacks you can use. The weapons are fun and some are just overpowered. The stages bring different environments to the player and many different bad guys to kick the crap out of. This game can be hard and is not for the below average player. They will never beat this game. This game does take a little bit of thinking when it comes to the boss fights though. Some of the bosses will just plain kick the crap out of you a few times before you figure out how to hit them safely. Speaking of bosses, the last boss is brutal. I personally have only beat him 3 times in a long history with this guy. And all 3 kills were my last 3 times playing this game. I finally figured him out. The multi player is just awesome. Its so fun to play with some one. Fighting with each other for the better weapons and stealing each others kills is a blast. A great find and a great time killer if you own a copy of this game.
after suffering through the long, tough repetetive final... fight and after playing the awful double dragon the shadow falls which is god awful, i was long searching for a fighting game the resembled the original double dragon, then i stumbled upon this one and this game was exactly what i was looking for. it is can be long in some stages level 2 for intance but not long repetetive and difficult like stage 4 in final fight is. the bosses are all pretty interesing. i like the part in mission 4 where you will run into all the big bosses on the street. steve, mcguire, giant carlem, and karate master duke. the levels are fun like the casino in level one. levels 2 and 5 are a bit long but there are not so difficult where you get frustrated and if you play well enough you can beat the game. Duke at the end is a reasonable challenge and it is disappointing though how weak giant Carlem is. but overall this is my favorite double dragon game and one of my favorite snes games behind only super punch out!! and castlevania 4.
One of the most exciting fighting game ever made for the snes. Super d...ouble dragon is rare and is worth a lot more money now then before. Also will go up in price in the future for sure
