Many, many years ago as a young patrolman, I wan...ted the easiest and fastest speedloader for my duty weapon. However, I purchased another brand speedloader, which will remain nameless, and carried it in my ammo carrier for months. Then one fateful day, I needed to reload my revolver in the worst kinda way: The speedloader had "frozen" up and refused to release the cartridges no matter how I pounded on it. In desperation, I yanked out my ink pen and stabbed the speedloader release mechanism, freeing the cartridges! NEEDLESS TO SAY, I later purchased two HKS speedloaders to replace the other brand and they have served me well, rain or shine, cold or hot, in all matter of weather until my retirement 40 years later! There is NO substitute for the simple twist of the knob to release your cartridges. KISS!

Well it doesn't really do any "speed loadi...ng" as the HKS 36A isn't so easy to actually get into the empty gun. The smaller 5 shot cylinder doesn't come out enough on my .38 special. The cylinder release is in the way a bit. So you have to finesse the rounds into the cylinder with the rounds with an unusual what I would call a sort of "pre-release" which is a bit troublesome. Actually it would probably be faster if you just loaded the 5 rounds individually. So mine are now in a box tucked away for perhaps a time in the future when they figure out how to get that cylinder to drop out a bit further, not much though.

I need them for storage of extra ammo. These speed ...loaders aren't going to last if used a lot. They have plastic clips that hold the bullets in. You've gotta twist really hard to get them to hold and my bullets fall out if speed loader is loader dropped. But they serve my needs for an extra speed loader in my vehicle. Good price, poorly built.

I bought this speedloader to use with a S...&W Model 60. It works but it is a little tight and I have to jiggle it somewhat to get the cartridges to release. Standard grips are on this J-frame and there is no interference between the loader and the grip. I have only used it a couple of times, so the problem may be me. Some time spent using it may the the answer.
