Do you like games on the go. Then pick up the PSP Go.
The PSP Go is a new iteration of the PSP console and it really brings it up to date. I think they should have designed the PSP like this from the start. The main differences between this and the older PSP consoles is that this is smaller, slimmer and lighter. It does this by getting rid of the UMD drive and having 16gb inbuilt storage, having a smaller but brighter screen, and incorporating a slide mechanism. The finish on the PSP Go is excellent. It looks and feels like a high tech piece of kit which it is. Buttons are much better feeling. They are shallower and much firmer in feel. The analogue stick is much better. The shoulder buttons are also a huge improvement. You have 16gb inbuilt storage and a M2 memory slot for an extra 16gb card. So 32gb in all which is pretty huge. It has no UMD drive so games have to be downloaded to it. Either through your PC or direct from the console. You get the games from the PSN store. You can fit quite alot of games on it. Standard 16gb got me 16 games or so. I have the 16gb M2 card with films and music on it. The Go has Wifi AND Bluetooth. So you can connect a PS3 controller to it. Pretty cool. The screen is smaller but the colour and brightness is much better. The slide mechanism is solid. Very smooth. Much better than the Xperia Play which is flimsy in comparison. Battery life is the same as the PSP 3000 so about 5/6hours play time. At the release date the PSP Go was too much money. Now (2011) you can get the PSP Go for under £100 and that is a total bargain. Remember, this is a gaming device first and also a media player, web browser as a second. Game wise this is THE BEST portable console around....until the Vita is released. I had the original psp console and was considering getting the xperia play as an all in one device. But then i had a shot on the xperia and the build quality and games options were poor. Plus it's not much of a good android phone anyway. So i checked out ebay and saw the PSP Go going cheap and picked one up. It was a good choice. Loads of games, better build quality and more money in my pocket. Sure I carry a small phone and the Go around with me but for that I get a dedicated games console (which i can Skype on as well) and my generic phone for texts n that. In fact, on holiday i took a 3g mifi and my Go. That was all. I used Skype text and chat via the 3g dongle which was great. Anyway, the Go is a great console. Especially now you can get them for less than half the original RRP.Read full review
Sony PSP Go
I brought the PSPgo a few months ago to go with my PS3 game console thinking it would offer more me versatility in the gaming experience. I may be doing something wrong but I cann't see the benefits of tuning the PS3 to remote play taking out the use of the TV completly to use the PSP. Yes it is a great little console overall although a little small for older eyes, and only having downloadable games makes it a little restricting and expensive.
Brilliant system - awesome display.
Bought for my grandchild so this is really his review. Excellent, awesome product with fantastic graphics. Great.
