Good starter but not for the phone junkie!
If your looking for a simple, easy phone then this is for you! If you like the bells and whistles of todays standards then this IS NOT for you! We bought this in a rush as a temporary replacement for a broken phone and absolutely hated it! It has the norms: Speakerphone,Calendar,Alarm,Tasks,Calculator,World Time,Stopwatch,Timer,Unit Conversion and Tip Calculator. It also features basic Text Messaging,Voice Notes,Camera,Games, and Downloadable content such as MegaTones & HiFi Ringers. It is also MyFave enabled however, you cannot create Picture Icons on mytmobile.com and save them to the phone! You CANNOT expand the memory with MicroSD. The worst thing we found was that you can't assign the buttons! You also have to choose to either hide or keep visible the MyFave 5 icons, unlike modern phones that you can hide or view them just by hitting a button. If you have them hidden, you have to go through your phonebook to call anyone on them, which is just obnoxious! It only came in black with silver colors. You can buy faceplates but they are the kind that clip on and are constantly in the way. Cal quality is good, signal fades more then our other phones. Charger port is in an inconveniant place. Doesn't seem to be USB capable. Read full review

Samsung SGH T329 Stripe, Not bad but could be better.
I like the features that are packed into this little phone. The screen is very good, and if you need to slip a small yet powerful phone into your pocket that will give you Bluetooth, and camera capabilities this will do the trick. I like the shape and design of the case, but I feel that its too flimsy and gives you a feeling that it would break easily. If more thought was given to this unit in terms of a tougher hinge assembly and a more rigid feel" this phone would have dominated the flip phone market for several years. In fact I believe that loyal Motorola Razor fans would have bought one. I purchased this phone used. A functional unit can be bought at auctions for about twenty dollars. So from a standpoint of having a low cost yet high functioning phone that was small and ergonomic for the pocket, I feel it was a good investment, and probably will hold its value for a year or two. Simple, big key buttons
Well I'd gotten this phone for my mother, for emergency use. I needed something quick, cheap, and simple. She's very old school and needs a phone that is simple to handle with big key buttons, ability to adjust size of font (large,so she can see it), and a loud ringtone. The default ringtones are not as loud as I would like it to be, but had no problem downloading other ringtone to it to make it louder. If you want basic but have other features also, ability to adjust font size (bigger than the average cellphones) and big key buttons, this is the phone for you.

Many people decided to beat up on poor Stripey before it was even released. First of all, I don't get the PEBL comparison. Second of all, try the phone first! PROS outstanding memory (21.8 MB) good sound quality easy texting 4 IM clients (AIM, Windows Live, ICQ, Yahoo! wonderful battery life great camera (4X zoom) 5 great little games (three of which are actual full versions) amazing for conference calls CONS low quality speaker phone some controls are awkward doesn't have AMAZING voice quality if you're obsessed with that type of thing Overall, a great little phone. Light, fits in hand well, affordable. Definitely recommend it.

Nice but could be better
The Samsung Stripe looks good and has really user friendly controls. Keys are large and raised, so texting isn't a issue. The VGA camera isn't that great but acceptable. Bluetooth paired up easily with my Plantronics 665. External screen is nice, no picture caller ID but I did like the display. The internal screen isn't anything to write home about. Has the usual features like IM's, SMS, MMS, speaker phone, alarm, etc. Call quality is a bit shaky and the volume level was a bit low. I have AT&T service and found my signal strength not the greatest. I got about 4 hours of talk time before I had to recharge it. Standby time was good though. This is a tri-band phone so reselling it or using it overseas might be an issue. Unlocking it is easily done if you plan to travel with another carrier. But remember, it operates on 850/1800/1900 only, no 900. If you're looking for a low to mid range camera phone, you can do better. Look at the Nokia 6103 for a better phone at a cheaper price.
