A very nice and versatile instrument!
Being able to take the Lucina out of the box and start playing within the same hour was fantastic. It's a very versatile instrument with tons of useful sounds for any genre. PROS: 1. Has it's own sounds or controls MIDI. 2. The sounds are easily accessible being right under the keys. 3. Lots and lots of different sounds for many genres. They seem to have more synth sounds than anything, but there are many more - even some special sounds like jazz scat! 4. The mod bar (squeeze bar) and touch controller (slider) are very useful, especially for synth and guitar sounds. 5. The D-beam is super awesome. There are several options like panning or filtering. This is just scratching the surface though. My favorite would be the filter option while playing some synth bass. Very useful. 6. Includes an on-board metronome that's suer useful for practicing and it has 6 sound. 7. There are two ways to attach your shoulder strap - which ever ones more comfortable on you. 8. It's just as easy to sit it down on a surface and play. There are some rubber feet on the bottom for stability. 9. Beautiful, sleek shape. 10. Has a transpose button and an octave button (making that sawtooth synth into a low-pitched, acidic bass synth. 11. Playing music from an MP3 or USB thumbnail is quite useful and fun. For the USB thumbnail, I would recommend using the one that Roland makes. Also comes with a dust cover for the USB port when not in use. 12. Comes with labeling stickers for a lot of different languages. I've obviously never used them, but I'd imagine they'd be useful to someone who dosn't speak English. CONS: 1. The "on/off" switch is in a weird place. If it was on the left panel where the D-beam and volume is located, it would be much easier to access. 2. Roland never made an official case for this model. Other people just use carry cases from other small keyboards, but it's just not the same. 3. Not that the Lucina is "really heavy", but it is a little thick. I don't have a real problem with it, but I wouldn't get it for anyone under 13 unless he or she has a strong back. If a person under 13 played for about 10 minutes there wouldn't be a problem, but playing for a straight 5 hours as I've done is different. Obviously he or she could play it in the natural keyboard position on a lap or table with no problem at all. Overall, I love my Lucina, and with very few cons, it's a great product! With the low price they're running now and all the stuff on board, it's a win-win instument. Read full review

Love this keyboard
I love this keyboard. I have just started using it and it has really great sounds and is very easy to play and figure out. I love being able to change octaves easily and the piano sound is really good. I love most the violin sound that I can make sound like a bowed violin and a bowed cello by changing the octaves and moving the keyboard. It blew me away when I played that. I can see using that on a recording. I have a bunch of other keyboards, but this one I can see easily fitting into my live show. I got a wireless set up for it and am psyched to be able to move around with it in a live show.

Should've bought one years ago!!!!
Funnest synth/rompler I've ever owned! Wish I would've bought one years ago!!!! Decent sounds, typical synth action. Lasts for a whole 5 hr. gig on the Nimh rechargable batts. til they need recharged. Weights about the same as wearing a guitar, yes, I use it with the strap! The 80's hairband I'm in was skeptical at first til we got through 2 Motley Crue songs and they were like "WOW!" That thing rocks! I usually have 4 boards I gig with not including this and now I'm down to 3 including this one!!!! Love it! Highly recommend for someone looking to get out from behind the boards and screw around like the others! : )
